Report from the President |
|
We are very pleased and proud to provide you with the 2009-2010 Annual Report of The Lima Community Foundation. We believe you will find it to be of interest as you learn more about our donors, their grants, and our activities.
Sincere thanks to the dozens of individuals, groups and organizations who have made donations to or through our Foundation. Together we are, indeed, making a positive difference in the lives of those around us.
The Foundation continues to actively partner with nonprofit organizations in our community by offering counsel, convening discussion of some key charitable issues, assisting with the provisions for charitable workshops and participating in alliances that are working to address local critical and evolving needs.
As a forward looking statement, 2011 will be busier than ever. We are presently working with several donors and their counselors to finite the details of their endowments and/or legacies. And, too, we are in the process of working with additional organizations to determine how we may be of service to them.
As an individual I would be remiss if I did not publically acknowledge the never-ending efforts of our Executive Director Susie Crabtree whose work ethics on our behalf are boundless. It seems to be a 24 / 7 situation!
October, 2010. ended the all-too-brief, two and one-half years “Eaton Era”, during which time Heather Eaton volunteered several days per week for two years, and her twin sister Courtney immediately followed for six months until she moved to Pensacola, Florida. They are missed!
We welcome the following new funds which were established during this fiscal year of 2010:
· Lois M. Rubens Fund · Woodlawn Historical Cemetery Term Endowment Fund
Donors are the lifeblood of any community foundation. We say THANK YOU to all those who have supported us in the past, and we most certainly welcome those who will help us thrive and grow in the future. Never hesitate to phone or e-mail our office should you have any questions.
Respectfully submitted, John W. MacDonell President The Lima Community Foundation |
